Thought you might like some pics of our Kenya trip.

PS We would all like to say a really big thank you to you
for organising us the holiday of a lifetime, it far
exceeded our expectations and we are very grateful. I know
the water colour did us no favours with the fishing, but
we still caught some amazing fish. It gave me a great deal
of pleasure to watch Martin, Lindsey and especially Ben,
experience Big Game fishing for the first time. I was also
very satisfied to get my Sail and Broadbill, and the GT on
the little rod was pretty special, I enjoyed that
immensely.
It was a privilege to fish with you, having your
experience, the constant support and advice and above all
your sense of humour really made for outstanding sport and
entertainment of the highest order. Pictures...

Largest fish to be landed on Kenya coast on rod and
line, in living memory.
Fishing out of Watamu, client Peter Fox ended a
fantastic season's fishing, in which he tagged two huge
blue marlin in Madeira early in the year. Then, turning
his attention to Kenya, where he decimated the marlin run
with black, striped, and more blues, not to mention
broadbill, all falling to his rod.
To cap an amazing run, on his last day out he connected
with a monster tiger shark, which came close to spooling
his 130lb outfit a number of times before it was beaten,
unfortunately. It eventually came to the boat completely
wrapped in 30ft of 600lb leader and, after much time spent
trying to revive it, it died and was towed back to the
weigh-in where it tipped the scales at 740kg or 1675lbs.

FANTASY SLAM
Many will know of the grand slam, and there are a few
recorded Super Grand Slams, that is, four different
species of the major billfish in one trip on a boat during
the 24 hour period. But to catch all five of the major
billfish species was pure fantasy, wishful thinking, an
angler's dream!
So here is the story of the very first Fantasy Slam.
Every year, a group of fishing enthusiasts sponsor a
tournament out of Hemingway's Resort that runs from the
afternoon of one day, fishing all night until the
afternoon of the next day. It is called 'The Friends of
Kenya', and this year ten boats entered. Full

Thought you might like a pic of the GT I caught, whilst
fishing out of Hemingway's in January. I was very pleased
with the travel tackle you provided for this trip. Namely
The 12# advanta rod and 12# duel speedy reel. The fish
weighed 31.6 Kg and is a new All Africa 6kg record (as yet
unconfirmed), fight time 80 minutes.

Hi
I thought this might interest you. This 30lb common carp was
caught by me on a 7ft 6" Advanta Blue Lightning 4 wt
travel fly rod and Steel Fin Spectra reel using a bloodworm
imitation (see on carps head) on 5lb fluorocarbon leader.
